There is so much to do in the winter around Breckenridge and no way for us to put it all here. So below we have listing some of our favorite things to do and some tips that might work well for you.
Skiing / Snowboarding
- The condo is a 3 minute walk to the Quicksilver Superchair, part of the Breckenridge Ski Resort. From Quicksilver, you can access all levels of skiing – blue, green, black, double black, and super-insane-I-hope-your-life-insurance-is-paid expert slopes.
- The brown route of the free bus gets you everywhere in Breck. If Quicksilver Superchair isn’t your favorite, hop on and get wherever you’d like.
- Also about a 3 minute walk is Breckenridge’s Village Ski and Ride School. This is the PERFECT place for you to drop this kids for a full day lesson. Then either join in on your own lessons or hit the slopes on your own.
- We make our kids do at least one day of ski school on every trip. It can be 6+ months since their last trip and it never hurts to have a refresher.
- Don’t forget your rentals! We have partnered with Christy Sports to secure you a 20% discount on ski and board rentals. Contact us for more information.
- First time on the slopes? Or maybe just a long time since you last skied? Read SkiBreck’s Beginner Ski Guide for tips and tricks before you even leave home.
Season Pass
- Planning on spending more than a few days skiing/boarding? You might want to check out an Epic Pass. There are multiple levels of passes that are good for up to 13 resorts. They will often include discount buddy passes that your companions can use. In our family, I buy one Epic Pass for me, then my wife uses buddy passes since she doesn’t ski as often as I do. The break-even for an Epic pass in Breck is somewhere around 4-6 days of skiing. So, if you are skiing every day of a week-long trip or making a couple of trips each winter it might be a good idea for you.
Ice Skating
- Indoor ice skating is about 2 minutes from the condo, just across Highway 9. Click here to check out the ice rink website.
- Outdoor skating is seasonally available… and it’s free! Check out the Town of Breckenridge’s site for more information by clicking here.
