A few years after purchasing our first Breckenridge rental condo, we realized we were very popular among friends and family. It’s great to be loved, but we were quickly running our of room trying to fit our large family plus friends into our one Breckenridge condo. So, in September 2018 we purchased a second condo on the same floor as our first. We undertook a complete remodel, and while getting ready to decorate we unknowingly collected several bear decorations for the condo. Paired with the fact that one grandparent is known as “Bear” and the motif of the decor, “Bear’s Den” was born.
Bear’s Den rocked a pretty original 1970s vibe when we bought it. Wanting to bring more than just a fresh coat of paint, we undertook a full remodel that included moving walls, changing the layout of the kitchen, and touching almost every part of the space. After many months of hard work, we unveiled the Bear’s Den Breckenridge rental condo in early 2019. At 1,000 square feet, 1 bedroom + loft, and 2 full bathrooms, this condo is a little smaller than Deer Lodge, but still comfortable for 8-10 people:
- Main bedroom with Queen bed
- Loft with 3 Queen beds
- Living room with Queen sleeper sofa
- Infants and small children are welcome to share their parents bedrooms at no additional cost
A little more detail on the condo is listed below, and be sure to check out the pictures!
Main Level
Walking into the main floor you are welcomed by boot bench with plenty of coat that opens to the open concept L-shaped kitchen with 10-person dining table and living room. The patio views are of peak 9 and 10 ski slopes. The master retreat has a large queen bed and its own HDTV. A remodeled full bathroom across from the master completes the main floor.
Loft
A spiral staircase leads to the large loft area that has 3 queen beds. A full bath and television allows the kids and teenagers to self-contain themselves while parents relax downstairs or in their bedroom. Please note that the overhead room in the loft above the beds is low. We’ve had plenty of adults stay up there – including us for over a month while we remodeled the main floor. But, the space is definitely better suited for kids and teens.
Location, location, location!
Park your car at our Breckenridge rental condo or take a shuttle in from the airport and then the rest of your stay is in walking distance. In the winter, it is a 5 minute to walk to the Quicksilver Superchair and the ski school – from here you can access all of the Breckenridge resort ski trails. Best of all, avoid paying resort prices for lunch by coming home to the condo midday. Main Street is also a 5 minute walk and offers dozens of dining options, shopping, playgrounds, and grocery stores. The pool and four hot tubs are below the condo balcony and offer a great way to relax after a hard day of skiing or hiking.
If you need ski / snowboard rental, we have also secured a 20% discount from Christy Sport for you to use. We personally use Christy Sports every year; buying skis for growing kids is a losing bet unless they ski daily, so Christy is our go-to spot. We highly recommend the Breckenridge Village / Base of Quicksilver location. Also take a peak (pun!) at the Beginner’s Ski Guide for reasons we recommend renting skis.
